So what does a meal in Arizona tell visitors and newcomers about our home state? Hopefully, it details the diverse cultures, the warm weather, and unique plants that can be found around here. Here are a few restaurants that not only do just that but also happen to serve meals that are just plain tasty!
1. Barrio Café, Phoenix
This multi award-winning restaurant doesn’t focus on just Sonoran-style Mexican food but you can tell the meals here are cooked with love. The food is hearty yet fresh and every bite is an absolute delight for your palate.

2. Brix Restaurant and Wine Bar, Flagstaff
Local produce, regional ingredients, and a seasonal menu all make the food at this restaurant simply amazing. The menu here is a bit pricey but is worth the splurge for a New American dining adventure.

If you’re looking for ridiculously good Mexican food that is unique and comforting, check out Elvira’s in Tubac. This little restaurant has been serving food since 1927 and is known for their incredible mole.

Hopefully this family-owned restaurant has found its final home after hopping around central Phoenix for a couple years. If you’re curious to try out some Native American cuisine, the Fry Bread House is a great place to start. You’ll find massive servings of fry bread and Indian tacos, as well as soups, tamales, and other favorites.

10. Turquoise Room, Winslow
