12 Beautiful Old Barns In Arizona

In a society that increasingly grows more dependent on technology each year, it can sometimes be difficult to remember that Arizona’s economy was once dependent on agriculture. Many of the old farms and their accompanying farms now lay hidden under suburban housing complexes, office buildings and other structures. So, let’s remember that past and look forward to Arizona’s agricultural future by checking out some of the charming, old barns found across our state.

1. Let’s start with this classic, red barn found in Pinetop. For most people, at first glance, it almost doesn’t look like Arizona.

2. This colorful barn was found in Prescott. Stunning!

3. There is also this beautifully weathered barn that looks stunning sitting in front of the Vermilion Cliffs.

4. Another classic red barn sitting under the pines, this time near Flagstaff.

5. This old horse barn looks like it’s seen better days but it is still standing strong and has character.

6. Here is a pretty, old barn sitting within view of Cathedral Rock near Sedona. Looks like the perfect spot for a ranch!

7. This red barn over at Schnepf Farms in Queen Creek is just one of the many reasons to stop by this farm.

8. A weathered barn standing in front of the Superstition Mountains; there’s no better way to be reminded of the beautiful land we live on.

9. This old barn located at the Grand Canyon was built in 1906 and housed mules and a blacksmith shop through the 1940s. Today it exists as a carpenter shop and storage.

10. I *love* how the wood has weathered on this barn. It has the appearance of sitting at Cordes Junction much longer than it probably has.

11. Here is an old barn apparently still in use in Pine. Lovely!

12. And, finally, check out this picture of a large, red barn over at Shamrock Farms in Stanfield. Did you know they offer tours of their farm?
