Arizona is home to some of the most intricate rock formations in the country, boasting mountains and canyons and plenty of rugged nature trails to explore. No matter how easy or difficult, flat or steep a hike may be, one thing is certain: the views will be incredible. Arch Canyon Trail is both moderately easy and beautiful, making it an essential Arizona hike.
Arch Canyon is a 2.4-mile out-and-back trail in the Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument. It is open year-round, and is oftentimes used for bird watching.
The first is fairly early in the climb, and the second one comes at the end, giving hikers a great incentive to reach the top. The view from the top spans miles, with gorgeous desert as far as the eye can see.
It’s a fairly quiet trail, giving visitors a peaceful, serene time as they take in the nature around them. It’s a good option for people of all ages, because the difficulty varies, but does not get too hard.
The mountains and ravines provide further views to marvel at, making this trail one of the most interesting and worthwhile in the state. That is saying a lot, because most of Arizona is picturesque!
Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument is located at 10 Organ Pipe Drive in Ajo, Arizona, and Arch Canyon Trail, located on the west side, is one of its greatest assets. Stay safe, and happy hiking!
