Zoos and amusement parks are equally quintessential destinations for family fun, and Wildlife World in Litchfield Park offers both under one roof. Get up close and personal with creatures of the land, sea, and air, then unleash your inner thrill-seeker on amusement park rides such as a roller coaster and 100-foot-tall swings. Doesn't that sound like a fun day?
Boasting the largest collection of exotic and endangered animals in Arizona, Wildlife World Zoo is situated on a whopping 215 acres of land in Litchfield Park.
You'll see more than 600 species in total, ranging from big cats that prowl the jungles to ocean-dwelling predators such as sharks.
Peruse the exhibits on foot, then give your legs a break and embark on a tram ride through the newly expanded Safari Park.
Here, you'll see animals native to the African savannah, including antelope, gazelle, wildebeest, and several other species.
You can even get up close and personal with some of the more docile creatures, including giraffes.
If you've never fed one before, it's quite the experience - just wait until you feel the warm, sandpaper-like tongue snatching the leaves out of your hand.
A lesser-known fact about Wildlife World Zoo is that it's also an amusement park!
There are several different attractions that promise endless fun for the whole family, including the ever-popular Skyride. On this high-flying adventure, you'll soar through the treetops and enjoy unparalleled views of the entire zoo. Plus, it only takes 15 minutes!
Reminiscent of Disneyland's Splash Mountain, the brand new Log Flume Ride sends you through a coral reef tunnel before plunging down a three-story drop.
Good luck staying high and dry!
Other amusement park attractions include a boat ride, carousel, safari train, flying scooters, roller coaster, 100-foot-tall swings, and a zip line.
Prices for each attraction vary, so visit the Wildlife World Zoo website or Facebook page to learn more and/or purchase tickets.
Address: 16501 West Northern Avenue, Litchfield Park, AZ 85340.
