There are a number of great trails in the area that allow you to get out and watch autumn arrive in the interior. One of our favorites is the After Dark trail.

This great loop trail is the perfect length to stretch your legs.

You’ll hike 2.8 miles total, walking on a well maintained trail. And if you come in the fall, you’ll be able to see the aspens’ leaves change color.

This is a very easy trail, clocking only 544 feet of elevation gain.

It’s very kid friendly, so this might want to go on your family outing list. Kids will love running along the trail, and it’s not a difficult one to complete.

You will come across some roots along the trail, even though it’s well maintained.

Just keep an eye out and look down occasionally to keep your footing. There’s also plenty of moose nearby, so stay alert.

You’ll find interesting items along the route, including the Old Dodge.

It’s a fun, laid back sort of trail with the colors changing right now. This is a great trail to see wildflowers, wildlife, and the beautiful autumn colors of an aspen forest.

The trail is non-motorized.

But you might see mountain bikers and horseback riders along the trail. In the winter, expect to share the trail with snowshoers and cross country skiers.

There’s no better way to spend an hour or two than a stroll along this magnificent trail.

It’s a great way to start or end your day, and especially good on the crisp autumn days. This is one trail you’ll find yourself coming back to again and again.
