Its name means "the high one" in Athabascan, and it is designated well. It is an awe-impressive 20,310' tall, and many climbers try to ascend it every spring and early summer.
The vegetation you'll find will depend on what altitude you're at within the park. In the lower areas of the park, you'll find forests of spruce and willows. Moose enjoy these areas, and you are more likely to see one of these impressive creatures in the lowland.
There are also 13 packs of wolves, numbering at 51 individuals. You'll also find rabbits, Caribou, Dall Sheep, and even coyotes. The park is teeming with wildlife, and you'll find it in the glacier fed rivers, barren rock faces, and dense poplar forests.
Open year round, there are a number of activities for you to delight in within the park. Mountain bike, backcountry hike, or ski your way through this amazing countryside. However you choose to spend your time here, you'll be awed by the majestic landscape that surrounds you.
