Hot Springs Resort in Alaska

Are there any natural hot springs in Alaska?

There most certainly are! In fact, Alaska is home to 79 amazing thermal hot springs, each of which is awe-inspiring and totally interesting. Most of these are found in the Yukon River Basin, though there are some stragglers you can find on the islands of the southeastern panhandle, too. Many of them are only accessible via boat or plane, and some are accessible only by a hike, but trust us when we say it’s worth every ounce of effort! There’s just something amazing about natural hot springs, and they’re thought to have healing properties. The most popular (and built-around) hot spring in Alaska is Chena Hot Springs, and it’s awesome! There are also places like Baranof Hot Springs and Chief Shakes Hot Springs. With almost 80 to choose from, there’s no doubt you’ll find something perfect for your preferences. For more of Alaska’s awesome hot springs, check out this list of some of our favorites

What are some perfect winter getaways in Alaska?

Alaska is THE premier state to get away to if you’re a fan of winter. There are all sorts of reasons to visit Alaska in wintertime other than just the snow, like the northern lights, for example. They’re most common between September and April, and they’re a bucket list item for sure. Alaska is also full of awesome winter festivals and traditions, like dog sledding, and the ten-day Fur Rondy Festival. Pick any one of Alaska’s premier ski resorts and relax for days, or maybe book an Airbnb and fall in love with some of Alaska’s most beautiful small towns. Getting away to the hot springs resorts we mentioned above is another wonderful idea; this state is easily in the top five most beautiful if you ask us, and it’s perfect for amazing winter getaways (and getaways year-round, really).
