Wildflowers Will Surround You On This Enchanting And Easy Spring Hike Through Alaska
Spring is springing here in Alaska, and we are hungry for new plant growth! If you’re looking for a spectacular hike that’s easy enough to do for the whole family, look no further than the Dock Point Trail in Valdez, Alaska. This easy trail is dotted with all sorts of gorgeous plant life all spring and summer long!

Sitting in a quieter section of waterfront Valdez, it boasts incredible views from the east or west. Its a shorter one mile hike, with about one hundred feet of elevation gain.

There's plenty of parking, and the route is visible from the parking lot. The entrance to the trail offers views of the mountains above the Richardson Highway.

You will be ascending through spruce trees and ground dogwood. In the spring, the hike is framed by an arch of green branches.

You'll find out information about everything from the flowers you're looking at, to the animals you should watch out for! There are plenty of moose and bear sightings on the trail, so be mindful of the potential wildlife around you.

There are plenty of viewing sections that are raised on wooden planks. The trail is constructed well and takes into account the larger amount of rainfall Valdez can see.

There are plenty of meadows where you can spot the different colored flowers poking out. See if you can spot the wild celery, or alder! It's a gorgeous area of larger than life Alaskan foliage, growing under the midnight sun.
