The K’esugi Ken Campground is the newest in Alaska, as it just opened over Memorial Day weekend 2017. This amazingly scenic site right along the Parks Highway was designed so that every camping spot has an unparalleled view of the Alaska Range. This includes the range’s star player Denali (formerly Mt. McKinley), North America’s highest peak towering at 20,310 feet. Camping here will feel like a dream as you marvel at these breathtaking mountains.
Denali State Park borders the southeast corner of Denali National Park, providing wonderful views of the south side of Denali. The Parks Highway runs right through the state park from North to South. This campground would be a wonderful place to camp on the way from Anchorage to Fairbanks, or just to get out of the city for a weekend.

The Campground is located at mile 135.4 of the Parks Highway. A two mile curvy road leads up the bluff overlooking the Chulitna river to the west. This site offers vistas of the entire Alaska Range.
The site features 2 miles of hardened gravel walking trails including the 3/4-mile Moose Flats trail is completely ADA accessible and offers spectacular views of Denali on clear days. This is a great place for a stop on the highway!
There are ten tent sites on a loop with grass and sod tent pads, fire pits, picnic tables and bearproof food lockers. Water is available from hand pumps in the campground during the spring, summer and fall months.
There is a separate loop with 32 RV sites, also with spectacular views. They all offer electrical hookups, so you can use power without the annoying generator hum.
There are also two year-round public-use cabins that have been in use for a few months. Both cabins overlook the Alaska Range, are ADA accessible, and are tucked into the campground loop.
The "Pack of Wolves" large group campsite can accommodate up to 50 people! With a small picnic pavilion and a fire pit area, this is sure to be the site of some epic group gatherings and camping trips in the future.
The full-time interpretive National Park Service ranger will offer daily campground presentations all summer. Learn about the animals, plants, weather, and history of the area from an expert.
A 90-foot interpretive pavilion has two fireplaces and displays on the natural and cultural history of the greater Denali area. Don't miss a visit to this excellent new campground, found only in Alaska.
