Nothing compares to the White Cliffs of Dover in Dover, U.K., but we do have some cliffs here in the Bay State that come pretty close. So, when you can’t make it across the pond to view England’s most famous cliffs, the Aquinnah Cliffs of Martha’s Vineyard will have to do. Just as beautiful and dramatic, these cliffs are one of the most visited parts of the largest island off the coast of Massachusetts.

One of the most stunning locations on Martha's Vineyard happens to be the Aquinnah Cliffs. Set on the westernmost part of the island, they are absolutely worth visiting.

You may first notice the expansive views of the cliffs touching the ocean, but don't forget to take a good look at the Aquinnah Lighthouse too.

This historic lighthouse (c. 1799) is made of red brick and was the island's first lighthouse. You can visit the Aquinnah Lighthouse between Memorial Day through Columbus Day.
Now, the Aquinnah Cliffs are not purely white like the White Cliffs of Dover, but they are just as dramatic as they rise over 100 feet above sea level.
