Downtown Jonesborough seems to be filled with so many pleasant surprises. In the oldest town in Tennessee, you would expect to see houses dating back to the 1800s, but there is one place that prides itself on an era not too long ago. The Lollipop Shop is a retro ’80s-themed candy store and arcade, and it’s just as radical as it sounds.
With bright colors and zany window displays, the Lollipop Shop is just inviting you in for fun.
This a motto that is posted all over the candy store, and it is more true than you realize at first glance. The deeper you go into this little candy store, the more you start to relive the golden years of growing up in the '80s.

Toys are on display all over the place to bring you back to when hair metal was played on the radio and no one even knew what a smartphone was yet.
An Evel Knievel wind-up toy and a classic Atari game system can be found next to a Barbie Dream House. These toys help conjure up memories and bring you back to places you thought were long lost.

The store also has a variety of odd choices like flavored crickets. But if you don’t want bugs to eat, you will still have plenty of classics like Bazooka Bubble Gum or Pop Rocks.
The Lollipop Shop isn’t just for those with a sweet tooth - it also has a surprise upstairs. You will notice the 8-bit-style signs leading you to yet another blast from the past.
