South Carolina Is Home To 3 Year-Round Ice Rinks, And They're Tons Of Fun

Whether it’s the dead of winter (all two weeks of it) or a dog day in summer, South Carolina’s three year-round indoor ice rinks provide hours and hours of entertainment across the state. Who remembers the first indoor ice rink in the Palmetto State? What a difference it made in the summer to duck into someplace where jeans and a jacket were a must for temps approaching the triple digits. A regulation-size rink that hosts both ice hockey games for youth and adults alike as well as public skating, Flight is the only spot in the midlands where you can ice skate all year round. It's hard to believe South Carolina's first indoor ice rink, Carolina Ice Palace, has been open for 25 years! The facility has not one - but two NHL-sized ice rinks and hosts a variety of hockey activities including games, leagues, and hockey camps for kids. Public skating is almost always available and while it's a great activity in the winter it's also a "cool" experience in the summer.
