The Arbuckle Mountains are the oldest known formations in the country between the Appalachian and the Rocky Mountains. This ancient mountain range is home to some of the most beautiful topography in the state – Turner Falls Park, the Chickasaw National Recreation Area, and Lake of the Arbuckles. Some say the granite rocks in the mountains date back over 1.4 billion years ago, which means there’s quite a bit of history hidden deep in these mountains.
