If you have ever traveled north on I-25 and passed Fort Collins, there is a good chance that you spotted an out-of-place T-Rex on the side of the road. What is this larger-than-life metal wonder? He is the greeter of the iconic Swetsville Zoo, of course, which is one of the most beloved and unique zoos in America:

Located just off the Harmony Road exit in Fort Collins, the Swetsville Zoo began as a hobby for owner Bill Swets, who started sculpting his amazing creations in 1985.

What started as a mere hobby quickly morphed into a northern Colorado tradition, as Swets and his wife opened their land to visitors who came to enjoy his many metal creatures.
