The restaurant opened in 2003 and is named for Lucrezia Borgia, a historic figure who was made to marry three different men in order to fulfill her family's lust for power.

Born in 1480 to the man who later became Pope Alexander VI, Lucrezia's first marriage was annulled and her second husband was killed so that she would have to marry a third man named Alfonso. This marriage gave her much power and wealth, and it is rumored that she used her influence to murder her family's enemies.
