While our recent weather has felt more like winter than spring, you can rest assured May will be warm enough to enjoy the outdoors. One event you won’t want to miss in May is Rooster Days – the oldest festival in the state. There will be plenty to eat, plenty to do, and plenty of old-fashioned fun for the whole family.
Mark your calendars for May 10-13, 2018, for the 87th Rooster Days celebration in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. This year it will be held at Central Park at 1500 South Main Street.
As the oldest continually running festival in Oklahoma, it's full of history dating back to the 1930s. Although you won't find 5,000 live roosters roaming around like the inaugural festival, you'll still see a few roosters making an appearance.
Ride passes can be purchased for all four days for a discount or you can choose just a single day pass. There are rides for kids of all ages, so bring the whole family along.
Don't miss the cornhole tournament on May 11 at 6:00 p.m. Grab your best partner and give it a try...the winning team takes home a trophy and bragging rights.
There's also an annual parade that will take place Saturday, May 12 at 10:30 a.m. Come see colorful floats, exciting dance teams, and award-winning bands along Main Street.
