You'll Find Some Of The Best Beignets In Mississippi At This Old Fashioned Drug Store

Though beignets are most commonly associated with New Orleans, it seems as if you can get some of the best right here in Mississippi.
The Food Network recently republished its 50 States, 50 Breakfasts article, in which it named the best place for breakfast in each state. Triplett-Day Drug Co. in Gulfport landed the Mississippi spot, specifically for its beignets. Take a look:

Opened since the 1950s, Triplett-Day Drug Co is a family owned pharmacy, gift shop, and soda fountain.
For years, groups of locals have gathered at the soda fountain for coffee, food, and conversation.

But it’s not only locals who love Triplett-Day Drug Co. Because of its beignets, the old-fashioned soda fountain was named the best spot for breakfast in the entire state by the Food Network.
"Beignet enthusiasts usually make a beeline for New Orleans, but they’d be wise to cross the Mississippi border for these extra-fluffy numbers," the network said in its article.
