Have An Old World Christmas At This Charming Historic Village In Utah
The holiday season is in full swing here in the Beehive State, and we couldn't be happier. No matter what kind of experience you're looking for this year, you'll certainly find it. We've already provided you with a little list of Christmas Light Displays that use twinkling lights, music and sometimes the latest technology to entertain and delight you. Now let's step back in time and visit a charming Utah place that offers an old-world candlelight Christmas.
This Is The Place Heritage Park is a winter wonderland in December.
It's located high on the bench of the Salt Lake Valley, in the mouth of Emigration Canyon. After a snowstorm, a thick, white blanket covers the village.
It's a wonderful place to visit, even when it's cold out. Many families enjoy a visit to this historic village as part of their family holiday tradition.
Do you ever wonder what Christmas was like over a century ago? You can find out here!
From December 9th through the 23rd, This Is The Place Heritage Park hosts its Candlelight Christmas celebration.
Father Christmas and all the volunteers at the park dress in period costume.
And of course, the historical buildings are all dressed up for the season.
If you get too cold, you can warm your hands by one of the outdoor fires.
Then, grab a tasty snack or dinner at the Huntsman Hotel. Some hot soup in a bread bowl sure sounds delicious.
You'll love the Heritage Village Carolers. Sing along!
Take a carriage ride...
...or hop aboard an old-fashioned wagon.
Make sure to say hello to Father Christmas and tell him that you've been very, very good this year.
Come explore this magical place Monday through Saturday evenings. It's just $5 for admission.
This Is The Place Heritage Park is located at 2601 E. Sunnyside Avenue in Salt Lake City. Does your family have a holiday tradition to visit this special place every year? Tell us about it!
