9 Main Streets In North Dakota That Are Pure Magic During Christmastime

Christmas is finally here and there are many ways people are celebrating the holidays. Towns light up with Christmas cheer all across North Dakota. Most all towns put up decorations on their main street, but some go the extra distance for the most beautiful lights, events, and parades. Here are 9 Main Streets in the state that are simply magical this time of year:

1. Minot

Each year a group called "Minot's Pretty Lights" helps decorate and light up Minot with tons of Christmas cheer. Their main street always looks beautiful around this time of year!

2. Bonanzaville

Bonanzaville, in West Fargo, lights up their own "main street" with lights and a fun festival known as Christmas on the Prairie each year. It brings together both the history of Cass County and the holiday spirit in one fun and beautiful event.

3. Carrington

The Carrington Light Parade lights up the faces along their main street during Christmas with floats from local businesses that spread seasonal cheer, even in the chilly snow.

4. Garrison

Garrison goes above and beyond and has earned the name of the Christmas Capital of North Dakota. Their main street is packed each year for three weekends with the Dickens Village Festival, based on the timeless A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. This one is absolutely loaded with things to do.

5. Williston

Williston has its own lovely light parade down Main Street with plenty of dazzling floats with unique Christmas scenes on them each year. This year the theme was "animation," where floats would light up with famous animated characters everyone knows and loves.

6. Jamestown

Jamestown's Holiday Dazzle Parade puts smiles on everyone's faces during Christmas time as the bright and colorful spectacle makes its way down Main Street every year to ring in the holiday season.

7. Hettinger

Hettinger has its own special event in the heart of the town, the annual Wake Up Santa parade! This includes floats, tons of lights, and ends in a fireworks show to "wake up Santa" and begin the Christmas season.

8. Edgeley

Every year, a large Christmas Tree is put up in Edgeley, North Dakota - you can see it being put up above earlier this December. This stunning tree sits on Main Street and keeps the spirit of the holidays alive.

9. Bowman

Bowman, North Dakota puts up a large Christmas tree on Main Street and has a lovely Christmas stroll and lights parade every year. It is beautiful and a great way to celebrate the holidays!
