This awesome, artistic little town is home to the only retail store that is dedicated to selling only opal and opal jewelry in North America.

Owner Dennis Dahl spent time in Australia, where 90% of the world’s opals are sourced, and he fell in love with the unique gem. He is involved with opals at all levels from buying rough opal in the fields, to cutting opals to making and selling beautiful and distinctively designed opal jewelry.

This quaint, restored gas station is home to some of the most beautiful and unique opals in the country.

Where in the US we are familiar with the white opal, there are actually quite a few different and gorgeous varieties like Black Opal, Crystal Opal, Boulder Opal, and Black Opal Treated Matrix, as well as Opal Doublets and Opal Triplets.
