BASE jumping off the New River Gorge Bridge in West Virginia offers an adrenaline rush and is a highlight of the annual Bridge Day festival.

Alright West Virginia, are you ready for a little adrenaline rush? This awesome video shows bungee jumping in West Virginia off of the New River Gorge Bridge. Well, technically, it's BASE jumping. For those of you that aren't familiar with BASE jumping, BASE stands for: building, antenna, span, and Earth (like cliffs). People really do this extreme sport right here in West Virginia! Let's take a look...

The New River Gorge Bridge is 876 feet high, 3030 feet long, 70 feet wide, and is 88 million pounds. It is one of the iconic landmarks that define West Virginia.

This bridge is one of the highest vehicular bridges in the world, and is the fourth longest steel single-span arch bridge in the world.

This bridge is beautiful, yes, but some view it as more than just a stunning piece of architecture. They see the New River Gorge Bridge in West Virginia as an epic, bucket-list-level challenge.

You see, once upon a time, folks flocked to this bridge to bungee jump. Bungee Jumping at previous Bridge Days caused some safety issues. But you can still BASE jump! Rappelling is also an option.

Bridge Day is a one-day festival in Fayetteville, West Virginia held every October. The bridge is completely closed to traffic on Bridge Day and an estimated 400 people jump off the bridge each year. Here's a video of this epic event:
