Jacksonville was founded way back in 1851, after gold was discovered in the area. During its short-lived (but epic) gold mining boom, Jacksonville also became home to the first Chinatown in all of Oregon.

The town is full of beautiful old buildings, some of which date back to the 1800s.

In fact, the entire downtown district of Jacksonville is deemed a National Historic Landmark.

Walking down the street, you'll feel like you've been transported to the past.
