The Legend Behind New York's Gates Of Hell Is Incredibly Troubling

Located on Pinewoods Avenue, this place is almost never referred to by its actual name. The original property was actually much larger, selling off pieces of its land to the nearby Troy Country Club. Today, the cemetery is now made up of only 22 acres.

Throughout the years, visitors have gotten themselves into enough trouble and caused enough damage to last the cemetery a lifetime. No pun intended.

The story you'll hear people speaking about the most, is the fact that the headless angel you see pictured above supposedly bleeds from her neck at night. If visitors were ever willing to take the risk of stepping foot inside of here, they almost always would directly make their way towards the headless statue. Photographs featuring showers of orbs are often captured here, leading many to believe that spirits are left lingering here.

Disturbingly enough, this isn't the only headless site you'll find inside of Pinewoods. Many have claimed to see one particular headless statue somehow with a head.

Pictured directly above, if you look hard enough you can see the marble receiving tomb peaking through the trees. Stories are told of visitors walking through the forested entryway, finding themselves suddenly being scratched or pushed by an unknown spirit. In more recent times when visitors have been equipped with cellphones, the story goes that your battery will mysteriously lose power at a more rapid rate than usual.

While no one is quite sure where the rumor began, for a long time a major part of this haunted cemetery's story was that it had been featured in Life magazine. In recent years through inquisitions it has been determined that not only did the article never exist, but that Forest Park Cemetery had never been featured whatsoever.
