You Won’t Want To Miss These Incredible Fireworks Shows In Michigan This Year

Summertime is in full swing here in Michigan, and you know what that means: the 4th of July is nearly upon us. With so many beautiful spots to celebrate throughout the Great Lakes State, perhaps you’re asking yourself, "Where can I find awesome fireworks near me this 4th of July?" Well, you’ve come to the right place! In both 2015 and 2016, we featured some of the state’s best fireworks displays. This year, we’ve compiled five of our favorite spots to enjoy Independence Day, along with a complete list of fireworks shows by county. Get ready to celebrate!

1. Ford Fireworks Show (Detroit River, 1 Hart Plaza, Detroit)

This exciting celebration will take place a few days before the 4th itself, but don’t let that stop you from checking it out! Walk along the lovely Detroit River, catch marvelous city skyline views, watch live performances, and snack on classic carnival food as you await the big show. The fireworks kick off at 9:55 PM at Hart Plaza on June 26.

2. Holland July 4th Fireworks (Kollen Park, 240 Kollen Park Drive, Holland)

Celebrate the wonderful summer holiday with a journey to Kollen Park, located on Lake Macatawa in the charming town of Holland. You’ll enjoy live music and plenty of family-friendly activities to keep you entertained while you wait for the fireworks display to begin. The show will kick off at 10:00 PM on the 4th — but we recommend arriving early to snag a great seat!

3. Traverse City 4th of July (West Bay, near East Front Street, Traverse City)

The Traverse City area is one of Michigan’s most stunning regions, and its beauty is only enhanced with the excitement of a sparkling fireworks display. Catch prime views of the celebration from along the West Bay shoreline and prepare to have an unforgettable Independence Day. The show begins promptly at 10:30 PM on the 4th.

4. Mackinac Island 4th of July (Windermere Point, Main Street, Mackinac Island)

Make the journey to Mackinac Island for a one-of-a-kind 4th of July extravaganza. In the days leading up to the 4th, you’ll find all sorts of fun activities to enjoy — from a stone-skipping competition to carnival rides. We recommend catching the fireworks from Windermere Point. The display kicks off at dusk on the 4th.

5. Salute To America Festival (Greenfield Village, The Henry Ford, Dearborn)

Greenfield Village has long served as an exciting step back in time for Michiganders of all ages, but it truly comes to life during the summer months. Every night from June 30 through July 3, you’ll have the chance to enjoy live performances by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, which culminate each evening in a magical fireworks display.
