We live lives full of puppy chow and long field trips, but what are some other things that happen when you grow up a Kansan? Of course, each area of Kansas is full of different people with different quirks, but for the most part these ring true for many of us. Here’s why we think Kansas is the best place to grow up.

1. We grow up with amazing school lunches, like chili and cinnamon rolls.

We love lunches like these, and it helps make great memories later on down the line when we find another place serving it the same.
2. Speaking of lunch: we enjoyed walking tacos at every sports event.

Every school game includes food that can be served on the go, like the classic walking taco, for example. It can even be upgraded by using Doritos instead!
3. You get the chance to be involved in so many school activities.

FFA, Stuco, Key Club, and FCA are just a few of the options you'll find all over the state. FFA can even land you all sorts of scholarships if you're going into agriculture.
4. You genuinely appreciate our farmers.

Along with FFA teaching us what farm life is made up of (if we weren't raised with it, that is) there's also plenty of meetings and places where you can expand your learning even further. Of course, every corn or wheat product you eat comes from fields just like the ones around your home.
5. Cruising along country roads is better than a house party.

It's a great way to spend time with friends without getting into too much trouble. Of course, just make sure you watch out for dust devils!

7. You grew up with manners.

8. You know we're so much more than a flyover state.

Every state has their boring days, but there's always so much to do and see here in Kansas. You just can't imagine someone who doesn't appreciate a good sunset.
9. Kansans are always a helpful bunch.

As long as you aren't a shady person, we'll stop on the road to help you out, or at least call someone who will. There's not much we wouldn't do for someone in need. Will a casserole help?
