Blackberry Hill Alpacas is a charming, 60 acre alpaca farm that's located in Anniston, Alabama. It's a definite must-visit for the entire family.
In case you're not familiar with alpacas, they're domesticated South American mammals that are related to llamas, hence the resemblance. Alpacas are primarily bred for their valuable wool.
Seventeen alpacas of different ages, colors, and sizes currently live at Blackberry Hill Alpacas. They're some of the friendliest animals you'll ever meet.
Blackberry Hill Alpacas is open year-round to the public beginning on the 4th Saturday in September (National Alpaca Farm Day) until the end of April. The farm's hours are 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesdays through Saturdays.
If you're wanting to visit Blackberry Hill Alpacas this summer, you still can. Outside of the farm's regular business hours, you can still visit the alpaca farm by making an appointment. Just simply call or text 256-453-4147. Admission is free.
Following your visit with the alpacas, don't forget to visit the farm's store, which includes items made from real alpaca fur such as clothing, yarn, etc. These items make great gifts!
