Wyoming’s winters are legendary, and the Cowboy State is one of the best places to hit the slopes year after year. While our resorts don’t get as much attention as the Vail-owned mountains in Colorado or Utah, if you’re looking to enjoy a powder day with no lift lines and no gaper crowds, add these hills to your skiing bucket list. These are among the best ski resorts in Wyoming.
This small ski area off of the Beartooth Pass on the border of Wyoming and Montana is the country's only summer ski area. It opens in late May and keeps going while the snow is good - typically until July. This is one of the best-kept secrets in Wyoming, and if you love spring skiing, you'll love summer skiing even more.
Hogadon Basin Ski Area is located on Casper Mountain. While the mountain is a legendary spot for fall foliage and summertime waterfall hikes, it truly comes alive in the winter! Hogadon gets some of the best snow in Wyoming.
Pine Creek is a teeny tiny ski area that pretty much everyone wants to keep to themselves. With 350+ inches of snow each year, more than 30 trails, and a vertical gain of 1420', this underrated hidden gem of a resort packs a punch!
It would be a sin if the Snowy Range mountains didn't have a ski area! With five lifts serving 30+ trails, there's plenty of terrain and hardly ever a line. This resort is tucked away in Centennial, and every day is pretty much a powder day.

Antelope Butte is a longstanding community-run hill near the Bighorns. It's tiny - three lifts serve 500 acres of terrain - but the 1,000-foot vertical rise means that there's a trail for every skier to enjoy.
If you want to spend an unforgettable day in the mountains, ski the Ghee. With wide-open skies and a huge variety of terrain, you'll think you've found heaven on Earth... and that's before looking over your shoulder and seeing the Teton Range view! Grand Targhee boasts more snow than Jackson Hole, with 500+ inches falling in any given year. Most of the runs are intermediate, but there are a handful of beginner cruisers to help you get your bearings, and their backcountry terrain rivals any mountain in the country. Their expert trails aren't for the faint of heart - the cliffs are the largest around. Though this resort is located entirely in Alta, Wyoming, you'll have to access it from the Idaho side.

White Pine is the type of ski resort that feels like home from the minute you step onto the snow. Two lifts, no lines, and cheap tickets make this a perfect spot for a family snow day, and there is a good mix of beginner, intermediate, and expert terrain to tackle. One visit here and you'll see why it's one of the most beloved ski resorts in Wyoming.

While this list does focus mainly on the smaller and underrated resorts, we'd be remiss if we didn't mention the local hill. Snow King gets overlooked for Jackson Hole Mountain Resort far too often! While the terrain is no match for the bigger resort on Rendezvous Mountain, you'll hardly ever have to wait in line, and if you get hungry, you can walk over to your favorite spot in Jackson for a bite to eat.
