There’s No Better Place Than This Underrated Beach In Wyoming
Wyoming isn’t the state people think it is. To be fair, a significant portion of our state is covered in arid plains, but Garth Brooks wasn’t lying when he sang about the beaches of Cheyenne. That’s right, though large portions of Wyoming look like they came straight out of a Clint Eastwood-era Western, we actually have a handful of pretty scenic beaches.
The best beach in Wyoming is located off of Jackson Lake. Offering a stunning view of the Grand Tetons, this beach is a unique Wyoming treasure.
Located in the northwest region of Grand Teton National Park, Jackson Lake is a 15-mile long glacial lake.
The lake was actually expanded following the construction of the Jackson Dam. The purpose of the dam is to provide water storage for irrigation in the Snake River Basin in Idaho.
In addition to its beaches, the lake has also become a hotspot for tourists due to its proximity to the Grand Tetons. It offers a variety of activities, such as kayaking.
Pictured above is the beach off of Jackson Lake. It’s a bit more rugged than some of the smaller lakes in Wyoming, but its raw beauty definitely makes it worth the hassle.
