When all you’re looking for is a destination for a day trip, we have just the spot.
The Edness Kimball Wilkins State Park is a day-use only park, so many people write it off in favor of places where they can set up camp and stay for awhile. However, the pretty little lake at the park is the perfect place for those who simply want to go somewhere fun to cool off in the hot summer weather. Bring along some food – with loads of things to do and picnicking facilities, you’ll want to spend the whole day.
Edness Kimball Willkins State Park can be found off U.S. Highway 26 about 8 miles east of Casper.
Although you can't spend the night on the beach at the lake, the park is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., so you can arrive early and stay late for a perfect summer day.
