Some people think it’s hard to find a quiet ski area in Wyoming, because Jackson’s resorts and mountains are always packed with visitors and locals alike. If you know where to go, though, you can have a blast on the slopes without worrying about crowds or long lift lines. One of the Cowboy State’s newer recreation areas, Antelope Butte, is the place to be for a peaceful afternoon on the mountain.

When Antelope Butte Ski Area closed in 2004, it broke the hearts of locals who grew up skiing there in the 40+ years that it had operated.

Luckily, in 2011, the Antelope Butte Foundation began to raise funds and create a plan to re-open this beautiful mountain.
