This is another local joint that doesn't look like much from the outside, but offers incredibly tasty food in a flash. This is a friendly, no-frills spot that serves yummy sandwiches, soups and baked goods. The coffee is way better than Starbucks, the sloppy joes are to die for and you absolutely must save room for their freshly baked cookies. If you're in the mood for a superb burger, look no further than Elk Mountain Trading Post. It's right off the highway and the perfect little roadside lunch stop. The owners are really friendly and are great about customizing orders for particular preferences. Try the double bacon cheeseburger for a heavy meal that won't lighten your pockets. Did someone say irresistible pasta? This place is an awesome spot to stop for a quick, dinner-sized meal that is sure to satisfy...and then some. You can feed a family of four for under $50, but the portions aren't skimpy at all. The service is lighting-fast because many of the ingredients are pre-prepared, but the secret is that everything is homemade and freshly made that day.
