There’s Nothing Like This Glittering, Magical Festival Of Trees In Wyoming To Kickstart Your Holiday Spirit
Some people have so much Christmas spirit they break out the holiday CDs and start putting up decorations before Halloween. Others need a nudge even to start thinking about the holidays. Whichever side of the fence you’re on, there’s magical festival in Wyoming of glittering trees that is sure to help your holiday mood along.
Holiday traditions start with decorating the Christmas tree, and in Cheyenne, Wyoming there's an entire festival dedicated to just that.
Every year, the Cheyenne Depot Plaza hosts the Magic City Festival of trees.
The 2017 festival is set to take place November 17 and 18.
Individuals and groups decorate a mini forest of trees that are displayed inside the Depot.
Many are cleverly themed trees...
...such as the ones that give a nod to a favorite sports team.
Some are fanciful...
...some are fashionable...
...but all the trees in this magical festival are beautiful in their own way.
The two-day festival includes a silent auction in which the public bids on an array of striking Christmas wreaths and other holiday decorations.
Naturally, no holiday festival would be complete without Santa. He's typically on hand to chat with all the good little girls and boys.
Plus, there's a gala dinner and live auction on Saturday. That's when the decorated trees are auctioned off to the highest bidder.
Tickets for the gala event can be purchased by calling 307-637-8869. All proceeds from the festival go to benefit Magic City Enterprises programs which support Wyoming citizens with disabilities.
It's a holiday event that fosters the true spirit of Christmas in many ways.
