This Tiny Drive In May Just Be The Best Kept Secret In Wyoming
Drive In Restaurants may seem like a thing of the past, when carhops would bring burgers, fries and shakes out to hungry families looking for a treat. Throughout Wyoming, though, you can still find these portals to the past in and around our small, rural towns. One of the best burger joints in the state is hiding in a Drive-In in the Star Valley, and it’s legendary.
JACZ Drive In is located in the small town of Thayne, Wyoming.
You can find this best kept secret at
55 Co. Rd. 115, Thayne, WY 83127
Order from outside or head in to see what their menu has to offer.
People come from all over Wyoming to try JACZ famous, gigantic burgers.
Their gigantic milkshakes are well known, too. Try the brownie shake or the toasted marshmallow smores shake!
The restaurant offers several specialty burgers, including the Big Jacz, which is topped with all the fixings, mac and cheese, bacon, and a gigantic onion ring.
The reuben burger is a new take on a classic sandwich! Topped with pastrami, sauerkraut, grilled onions, creamy horseradish, and Swiss cheese... does it get any better than that?
One of the more popular burgers is this pulled pork, bleu cheese, and bacon burger. It is tastebud heaven!
Truly brave diners will take on the JACZ Beat the Meat (yes, really) Challenge.
The challenge is simple... devour three layers of pulled pork, bacon, and cheese between three 1/3lb beef patties, topped with an onion ring and a fried egg. Then, finish a heaping portion of French fries...and wash it down with a big, old fashioned, root beer float.
If you get it done in 35 minutes, you will have earned a spot on their Wall of Fame - and your meal will be free!
For less adventurous eaters, the menu at JACZ includes other sandwiches, salads and more. Try a BLT, a Philly cheesesteak, or a gigantic taco salad.
Be sure to save room for dessert! There is always a selection of homemade pies to try.
Or, finish your meal with a classic ice cream sandwich! Homemade cookies and local ice cream combine for a treat that is divine.
