Here Are 9 Of Wyoming’s Tiniest Towns That Are Always Worth A Visit
Wyoming is a state full of small towns, and each one is a great place to visit. Here are a few of our favorite destinations for day trips or weekend getaways in the wild west of Wyoming.
Hulett is the closest town to Devils Tower, Wyoming's first National Monument. It's a charming little town with a quirky little Ponderosa Cafe, where you'll find some of the tastiest meals around.
Centennial is the perfect town for snow lovers, as this mountain resort is tucked up right near the best slopes around. Stay in a cabin at Mountain Meadows for a weekend getaway you'll remember forever.
Dubois is a tiny artists' town near the Wind River Range, just south of Bridger-Teton National Forest. It's a great place to stay if you want to be in the middle of it all — close to gorgeous, snow-capped peaks and endless hiking trails, while still being in a vibrant community.
Afton is a tiny town that's home to a great chocolate shop, a place where you can find fresh, flown-in seafood, and the world famous elk antler arch. If the weather cooperates, head to the Intermittent Spring on the outskirts of town. It's a beautiful hike to a geologic wonder.
Thermopolis is one of the most underrated towns in the state. It's home to the world's largest mineral hot springs, a unique state park, and the best dinosaur museum in the west! Visit for a weekend and you won't be bored for even one second.
Hartville is the oldest town in Wyoming and it's worth a visit for the history alone. While you're in town, visit
Miners and Stockmans
, Wyoming's oldest bar and steakhouse, for a great meal
Buffalo isn't Wyoming's smallest town by any means, but it's still one of the most charming places on earth. Visit the Occidental Saloon or the Busy Bee Cafe to feel like you've stepped back in time.
Saratoga is a tiny, scenic town where you'll find the historic Hotel Wolf! Head there for some of the best prime rib you'll ever have.
Sundance is famous for being Wyoming's outlaw town! This pretty little town is the perfect place to get away for the weekend. Crook County Museum is a hidden gem tucked into this little mountain town.
