The National Civic League gives this prestigious award every year to 10 communities whose citizens work together to solve the most pressing local issues with innovative ideas. Here’s the All-America City in Wyoming that anyone would be proud to call home.
Powell is a community comfortably nestled in the northwest corner of Wyoming. It's conveniently located just 75 miles east of Yellowstone National Park. It lies in a beautiful region of the state right in between the Big Horn Mountains and the Absaroka Range.
The town was incorporated in 1909 and became a city in 1964. Powell was named after John Wesley Powell who was a U.S. soldier, geologist and explorer.

Here, the air is clean, the climate is mild and the skies are mostly clear blue with lots of sunshine. With mild winters and warm, dry summers, Powell Valley sees very little rain or snow. That's not to say you can't enjoy the snow-covered mountain ranges surrounding the city.
