Experience The Magic Of Winter On These 9 Wisconsin Sleigh Rides
The 30-minute sleigh ride at Rocking L Acres is the perfect way to get into the spirit of the season…but it’s not the only way. Sleigh rides are a beloved (and undeniably magical) wintertime activity, and luckily, there are several places in the Badger State where you can partake in the old-fashioned pastime. Take a look:
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. At this 800-acre farm, there’s plenty of space for dashing through the snow! And dash through the snow you will when you embark on a winter sleigh ride tour of the farm. The perfect winter adventure, a team of Belgian draft horses will take you through snow-covered forests and fields. Upon your return, you’ll be treated to your choice of hot apple cider, Russian tea, or hot chocolate.

On Twin Lakes may be most known as an event venue; however, it just so happens to offer sleigh rides as well. During the 90-minute ride, you’ll go up and down hills, in and out of 300+ acres of woods, and along lakes and ponds.

A magical sleigh ride at Apple Holler is like stepping inside a snow globe. Not only are the sleighs pulled by beautiful Haflinger horses, but you’ll be treated to a special orchard tour. You’ll even traverse an “enchanted forest,” which is home to charming hardwoods, many of which are over 100 years old. It’s basically a winter wonderland brought to life.

It’s lovely weather for a sleigh ride together…at Roden Barnyard Adventures, where you can listen to sleigh bells ring while a team of Percherons pulls you across hundreds of beautiful wooded acres. Only adding to the magic are the thousands of Christmas lights that illuminate the path. Not surprisingly, this sleigh ride sells out fast, so making reservations ASAP is imperative.

As the name implies, this Antigo attraction offers both wagon and sleigh rides, which means you can basically visit year-round. However, there’s no denying that the sleigh rides make Brandt’s a wintertime must-visit. The two-hour sleigh ride (yes, you read that right, two hours!) takes you around the farm for a one-of-a-kind tour.

There’s no better way to spend a cold day than gliding through the pristine winter wonderland found at Starwood Farm. Perfect for groups and families, the farm’s large sleigh holds up to 16 adults. Only adding to the fun, each ride includes a stop at a bonfire, where passengers can warm up and enjoy some refreshments.

Step back in time with an old-fashioned sleigh ride at Red Ridge Ranch. Offering a glimpse at Christmases of years past, the 40-minute ride takes passengers through the scenic and snowy woods of west-central Wisconsin.

The horse-drawn sleigh ride at Dan Patch Stables takes you through some of the most beautiful areas on the expansive Grand Geneva property. Remember, sleigh rides require about 6” – 8” of snow, and as such, availability is dependent on the weather.

With an antique Canadian sleigh, an antique Minnesota country sleigh, and a large bobsled, Hoof Beats Express offers some of the most unique sled rides in the state. Regardless of the mode of transportation selected, you’ll be treated to a scenic ride around the 115-acre farm.
