We don’t always live up to the stereotypes here in Wisconsin, but one I think we relish is that we’re thrifty. We love a good deal or sale and we don’t like over-paying for things. Maybe that’s why our thrift stores are so great. We donate our things and keep the cycle going.
We’re also lucky to have some unusual, quirky and awesome thrift stores. You never know what you might find second-hand here in Wisconsin. Here are 14 places you should check out if your day is made by finding a great bargain:

An unconventional choice, but In my opinion, this is the biggest hidden gem in the state. You never know what they'll be selling. Sometimes it's leftover athletic gear, sometimes it's picnic tables. The Facebook page is worth the follow for all the amazing descriptions they come up with and the weird stuff they unearth. They've got a fancy facility in Verona that's open to the public Tuesdays 8:00am-2:00pm, Fridays 8:00am-2:00pm and 2nd Saturdays 8:00am-12:00pm. Located at 1061 Thousand Oaks Trail, Verona, WI 53593.
When Goodwill of SEWI announced a boutique store, no one quite knew what to expect, but Retique is the kind of curated thrifting you wish you could find more places. The prices are slightly elevated from standard Goodwill prices, but not by much. Some of my favorite clothes have been found at this store in Milwaukee's Third Ward.

Customers only complaint about this place is that it's too small. They love what they find here and the prices are excellent. Located at 2552 Rose St, La Crosse, WI 54603.
This place is deceivingly big, with a second floor. As a consignment store, the prices are slightly higher, but still really thrifty. It's exactly the sort of charming second-hand store you'd imagine in Door County.
