You Don’t Want to Miss Out On This Revamped Wisconsin Ski Resort
Wilmot Mountain has been a fixture of southeastern Wisconsin winters for years. Located right along the Wisconsin/Illinois border between Lake Geneva and Kenosha, it has called to skiers, snowboarders and tubers from both states for decades.
The resort was recently purchased by Vail Resorts out of Colorado and they put $13 million worth of renovations into the mountain. The result is a fully-upgraded mountain that still manages to remain familiar to those who’ve been going to Wilmot for years.
From new lifts and conveyors to increased snow-making capacity, the renovation covered every inch of the resort and the result is a winter experience that can last longer and is more comfortable. Wilmot has always been about easy, affordable and accessible family fun and the revamped plans provide that while upgrading nearly all aspects of the user experience.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. The bulk of the renovation budget went in to totally revamping the lodge. From quicker ticket and ski rental lines to cozier resting places, you'll find a lot of reasons to want to head to Wilmot.
There's a new snowboard terrain park with jumps, rails and more to keep snowboarders thrilled and entertained. There's also a high-speed tow rope to take you back to the top.
And Wilmot didn't forget about those of us who can't keep upright on skis but still love the snow. There are 22 tubing lanes and two surface conveyors to transport you back to the top for another ride.
The new owners also created a dedicated children's and beginners ski and snowboard center and the beginner's area was re-graded to make it more conducive to those who are just learning.
While many of us have loved the warmer winter, it's not been very nice to those who love snow. The renovations included a huge commitment to snow-making, with 56 new snow-making guns and more than four miles of snow-making pipe.
Single-day prices ticket did increase slightly, though season pass prices actually decreased. Free membership to their customer program gets you a $5 discount on tickets, as well.
