Chicken wings can be a wildly divisive topic. Some folks like ’em breaded, some like ’em naked. Others like them grilled while some want them fried. Some like them loaded with sauce and others prefer them dry-rubbed. With so many different variations, there’s no way to agree on who makes the absolute best. Lucky for us, there are stellar places all across the state that make chicken wings all kinds of ways. You shouldn’t have any problem finding wings you love at one of these amazing Wisconsin spots. In no particular order, here are 12 places to get truly mouthwatering wings:
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here:
1. Chicken Lips - Sun Prairie
This is one of those places that's gotten popular in the Madison area by word of mouth, but if you aren't in the know, you can't possibly know. It seems like an odd little roadside place, but you'll be blown away. The dry rub is so flavorful you don't need sauce, but if you add some, it'll only enhance the flavor.
Located at 5508 County Rd N., Ste 3, Sun Prairie, WI 53590.
2. The Sports Nut - La Crosse
Wednesdays and Sundays get you 50 cent wings at this big spot with a ton of TVs. Settle in for some football, or bring a big group and take advantage of their 100 wings and a quarter barrel for $125 special. They've got 19 different sauces, so no one should go hungry. Located at 801 Rose St., La Crosse, WI 54603.
3. TomKen's - West Allis
Milwaukee wing champions for more years than I can remember, they offer their winning wings for 50 cents each on Monday and Thursday. There's the standard flavors plus something weird but wonderful the chef cooks up that week. If you've only ever gone for their (truly stellar) fried chicken, you've done yourself a disservice.
Located at 8001 W Greenfield Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53214.
4. That BBQ Joint - Madison
Combining two of the very best things in the world - smoked BBQ and wings - this place is doing it right, plus you get to sample their killer sides.
Located at 901 Williamson St, Madison, WI 53703.
5. Points East Pub - Milwaukee
Voted one of the top 21 wings places IN THE COUNTRY, no Wisconsin wings list is complete without talking about Points East. Made fresh to order and popular, know you'll be waiting a bit for these guys but it's totally worth it. The dry rub is stellar, the wings are moist and that grilled char is oh, so worth the wait.
Located at 1501 N Jackson St, Milwaukee, WI 53202.
6. Buckets Pub - Racine
An unusual addition to the wing circuit are Buckets' Monday night broasted wings. The rest of the flavors are also great and they get improved by sitting outside with a cold one on a hot summer day. Located at 2031 Lathrop Ave, Racine, WI 53405.
7. The Village Inn - Hudson
A local favorite, you'll never go wrong watching a Wisconsin sporting event here with a few of your new best friends. The wings are moist and flavorful and you'll find yourself wanting more.

8. Scuba's Pourhouse - Appleton
The parmesan spicy garlic wings are where it's at for Scuba's. Crispy, moist, flavorful and unlike anything else you've had, they're worth the trip.
Located at 1309 E Wisconsin Ave, Appleton, WI 54911.
9. Siebert's Pub - Salem
This pub dates back to the 1880s and has a homey, stagecoach stop feel. The wings are cheap, the flavors are interesting and inventive, and you'll not be sad you stopped.

11. Glacier Rock - Baraboo
Possibly the least likely place to find great bar food, but stellar despite appearances. Located in a hotel, this place has a ton of craft beers on tap, an interesting sweet chili wing and big portions. A great place to refuel after hiking.
Located at 630 W Pine St, Baraboo, WI 53913.
12. Wildlife Bar and Grill -Bonduel
A local favorite, rebranded and revamped, these folks serve amazingly flavorful food. The wings are saucy and moist and if you have room for a burger or jalapeño poppers, you won't be sad you tried them.
