This Magnificent Sunflower Field In Wisconsin Has An Unexpectedly Beautiful Story
There’s a four mile stretch of Highway 85 near Eau Claire that’s lined with acres of sunflowers that should just be starting to bloom. They were planted as an homage from a husband to his recently deceased wife.
The sunflowers were the wife's favorite flower and have become a tribute to her.
The fields of flowers have become famous and the family has created a company to sell flower seeds.
The flower seeds are meant to grow flowers that will attract wildlife and they are also a fundraiser for families that are affected by cancer.
A portion of the proceeds will go to hospitals, cancer research, and patient advocacy,
The flowers reach their peak in early August, but folks will stop here all summer long to take pictures, see the birds and insects the flowers attract and just enjoy the gorgeous sight.
Some of the flowers are on neighbors' land, but they were all on board to honor the local woman who personified sunshine and was so loved.
Seeds of Hope grew out of the wife's struggle with multiple myeloma.
She had more than 22 different treatments for her cancer, many of which were clinical trails. The money raised by Seeds of Hope helps support families in similar situations.
The flowers reach for miles and are a beautiful reminder.
You can't help but be touched by the love of this couple and the good deeds they continue to do with their seed sales.
It's impossible not to fall a little in love with this lasting tribute.
