Most waterfalls require a bit of a trek to get to, but not all of them. And if you want to do some waterfall viewing – minus a strenuous hike – Stephens’ Falls is the perfect destination. Located at the end of a short trail, the waterfall takes barely any effort to reach, yet it’s sure to impress. Take a look:

One of Wisconsin’s largest state parks, Governor Dodge offers 5,300 acres of recreational opportunities – and that includes the Stephens’ Fall Trail.

At ½-mile, it’s one of the park’s shortest hikes. It’s also one of the easiest.

But just because it’s an easy hike, don’t assume it’s not a stunning one. The picturesque trail takes hikers past rock outcroppings and lush greenery.

Keep in mind, though, the stone steps can be a bit difficult to navigate. Also, the terrain is a somewhat uneven; however, the effort it well worth it since you’ll get up-close views of Stephens’ Falls.

Your day at Governor Dodge State Park doesn’t have to end when the Stephens’ Fall Trail does, though. The park has 11 other trails, which span nearly 40 miles, so there’s lots to explore.
