10 Uniquely Themed Restaurants That Will Transform Your Wisconsin Dining Experience
There are plenty of chain restaurants in Wisconsin that are just fine, and there are even independently-owned places that provide great meals. But Wisconsin also has some pretty off-the-wall restaurants. We’re talking about restaurants with unique themes you won’t find anywhere else. Here is a list of the top 10 in our state.
During these uncertain times, please keep safety in mind and consider adding destinations to your bucket list to visit at a later date.
1. AJ Bombers
Instead of dropping bombs, these guys are dropping peanuts from planes on tracks. And if peanuts aren't your thing, their burgers are phenomenal. They've got locations in Milwaukee and Madison.
2. Titletown Brewing Company
When in Green Bay, you really do need to embrace that everything is about the Packers. Their microbrewery is the bomb, and it's perfect for the meat and potatoes lover. 200 Dousman St, Green Bay, WI 54303.
3. Al Johnson's Swedish Restaurant
How many restaurants have a grass roof and goats on top of it? I've only been to one. Al Johnson's has some delicious Swedish food as well, including those classic Swedish meatballs and lingonberries. 10698 N Bay Shore Dr, Sister Bay, WI 54234.
4. Delta Diner
A lot of places call themselves diners, but how many are actually located in a restored 1940s diner (that is in the middle of the woods, I might add)? This diner fare does not disappoint. 14385 County Highway H, Delta, WI 54856.
5. Safe House
Do you know the password? You better at Safe House, an espionage-themed bar. Boy, is it a lot of fun. And look at this picture of the food--you won't mind being stranded at this safe house AT ALL. 779 N Front St, Milwaukee, WI 53202.
When I am out to eat, the mac n cheese always looks appealing. So why not go to a restaurant where everything is mac n cheese? You'll be blown away by some of the mix-ins. 208 Broadway, Wisconsin Dells, WI 53965.
If the Big Bang Theory was a restaurant, I'm pretty sure it would be Binary. Binary is a science-fiction themed bar and restaurant, with loads of tabletop games to choose from. 9105 W Lincoln Ave, West Allis, WI 53227.
8. Stella Blues
I didn't know that Northwest Wisconsin could feel like the heart of Cajun country. Well, you can get some terrific Cajun-influenced cuisine at Stella Blues. 306 E Madison St, Eau Claire, WI 54703.
9. Comet Cafe
The theme of Comet Cafe is comfort food. And nothing comforts me more than the free baskets of bacon they serve Sunday nights. 1947 N Farwell Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53202.
10. Mike's Donuts and Chicken
I never considered a restaurant concept that would have both delicious chicken and tasty donuts. But that's because I am not an evil genius. You have to taste it to believe it. 701 56th St, Kenosha, WI 53140.
