You’ll Fall In Love With This Toy Train Barn Hiding In Wisconsin
All aboard! We’ve got the perfect destination for your next in-state adventure – The Toy Train Barn. Hiding in the tiny village of Argyle, it requires a bit of effort to get to, but it’s well worth it. Not only is the barn filled with train displays, memorabilia, and photos, but it also offers train rides. After one visit, you’re sure to fall in love with this charming attraction. Take a look:
Aptly named, The Toy Train Barn is housed in an actual barn that was once home to a herd of dairy cows.
It’s located 7.5 miles west of Monroe on Highway 81. Just look for the huge orange and gray barn – you can’t miss it.
A great visit for all ages, the museum now houses an incredible assortment of trains. The trains vary in size and age - some date back to the Depression era.
Though the enormous and varied toy train collection is reason enough to visit the museum, it’s not the only reason. There are also lots of train memorabilia and photos.
Hop aboard the Argyle and Eastern Railroad for a scenic ride through the countryside. Making for a realistic journey, the railroad features a turntable, water tower, and depots.
Visit The Toy Train Barn Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. As per the museum’s website, call ahead as hours are subject to change. For more information, call (608) 897-5651. You can also visit The Toy Train Barn website or Facebook page.
This isn’t the only great museum in the state. Read about others here.
