So you’re moving to Wisconsin? Or recently moved? Well, first of all–welcome! You made an awesome decision. Wisconsin is a great place to live whether you’re trying to advance your career, want to raise a young family, or just want to enjoy life more. But of course, there might be some unexpected things when you move to a new place. We’re counting down ten surprising things you might not expect when you move to Wisconsin:

Yeah, we really are the Frozen Tundra. Unless you're moving from Minnesota or something, you'll need to get adjusted to the climate here.

We party harder than anyone, anywhere. We're always a few beers ahead of our friends from Illinois.

You have some idea that people love the teams up here. But until you move here, you just have no idea how much people root for the home team.

We're by no means a Southern state, but we still love our country up here.

We are more than just brats and cheese curds (although we do those pretty darn well).

Wisconsinites are often painted as country people who aren't very into art. But we really appreciate culture and have some awesome museums to prove it!

Seriously, the ladies are on their own as men (and boys) leave during Wisconsin's hunting season.

Our parents, grandparents and so on all worked their rear ends off. Hard work is a value that is instilled at an early age. We don't tolerate slackers.

Especially if you're moving from Illinois, you'll be shocked with how friendly people are. They actually talk to you when you check out at the store. And acknowledge your existence. OMG.

People love cows up here. And chances are someone in our family is associated with a farm. But don't assume we know how to milk cows...please.
