There are some really great Wisconsin restaurants – but you might not know about them. These are definitely a little off the beaten path, but they are worth the search. Here are 10 you should definitely check out.
1. Delta Diner
Of course Wisconsin has diners tucked away in the middle of a forest! This will take your breath away, being featured in the middle of the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. It's diner food done right. Drive your snowmobile here for an even cooler experience. 14385 County Highway H, Delta, WI 54856.
2. Ishnala Supper Club
There's something to be said about supper clubs in Wisconsin--and this one might be one of the best. It's located right off of Mirror Lake. In fact, you can walk a bridge to get to it. And just check out that view. S2011 Ishnala Rd, Lake Delton, WI 53940.
3. Cafe Corazon
This teeny tiny restaurant serves some of the best Mexican in Wisconsin. Everything is fresh and locally sourced. 3129 N Bremen St, Milwaukee, WI 53212.
4. The Danish Mill
You have to go to an island to eat at this restaurant - really. But it is worth the ferry ride. Make sure to try their pie. 1934 Lobdell Point Rd, Washington, WI 54246.
5. Shah Jee's
Yes, go into this office building and discover great Pakistani food. It's a cafeteria, but the food will blow you away. 770 N Jefferson St, Milwaukee, WI 53202.
6. Vino in the Valley
Is this Wisconsin or Italy? Have you ever wanted to have a great Italian meal (and wine) with friends right outside? This is your new place. W3826 450th Ave, Maiden Rock, WI 54750.
7. The Nelson Stone Barn
Did someone say pizza? Yes, this is your classic Wisconsin pizza farm (the best farm there is). Stone fired pies will make the drive worth it. S685, Co Rd KK, Nelson, WI 54756.
This one is off the beaten path up in Suamico (near Green Bay). It's in an old restored church. Watch as pizza dough flies high into the air. 13201 Velp Ave, Suamico, WI 54313.
9. Ardy and Ed's
This drive in is not hidden, per se - however, you have to know where it is. They have your classic root beer floats and hot dogs. There aren't many of its kind left, so make that extra effort to get on out here. 2413 S Main St, Oshkosh, WI 54902.
Better make sure you know the password. This place looks very nondescript (on purpose). It's a spy-themed bar and restaurant. 779 N Front St, Milwaukee, WI 53202.
