Wisconsin Major Cities Looked Like In 1930s May Shock You. Milwaukee Especially.

We love old photos because it shows us how things used to be. So it’s great to come across these photos of Wisconsin from the 1930s. Here is what Wisconsin looked like back then!

1. This is what the house at 912 North 8th Street in Milwaukee looked like in 1936.

2. And here is 1930s housing under the Wisconsin Avenue viaduct in Milwaukee.

3. This is a house next to a junk yard, located at 1535 North 10th Street in Milwaukee.

4. This is a group of houses in 600 block on East Detroit Street, Milwaukee in 1936.

5. Look at this Milwaukee road lined with 1930s cars (1937).

6. These people resided in a group of fishing shacks on Jones Island.

7. This was what a model house in Greendale looked like (1937).

8. This is a multi-family house under construction on the Greendale project in 1937.

9. This was the outside of a candy store in Sun Prairie in 1937.

10. And this is a home ready to celebrate Labor Day in Greendale in 1939.

11. This was the medical center in Greendale in 1939.
