These 15 Mind-Blowing Sceneries Totally Define Wisconsin
When most people think of Wisconsin, they think of fields of crops and cows. And while those make for some beautiful Wisconsin scenes, there is scenery all over the place that is beautiful in a different way. Here are some amazing shots of some of the best scenery across Wisconsin.
1. The Meeting of Two Rivers
This photographer captured the beauty of the confluence of the Chippewa and Eau Claire Rivers in Eau Claire.
2. St. Louis River
A fantastic Wisconsin river, this shot of the St. Louis River really captures the scene of a typical Wisconsin river.
3. Peninsula State Park
This Door County staple is so absolutely gorgeous, whether you are observing from an observation point like this fellow or hiking through on the ground level.
4. Little Manitou Falls
These falls fall 30 feet. It's quite scenic.
5. Big Manitou Falls
Not to be outdone, Big Manitou Falls rumbles 165 feet into the Black River.
6. Pewit's Nest
Referred to some as a "swimming hole," Pewit's Nest is a natural gorge that has been drawing people for decades.
7. Devil's Lake State Park
These 500 foot dramatic bluffs over this lake bring tens of thousands of people each year to enjoy it.
8. Blue Mounds
Blue Mounds is the highest point in southern Wisconsin, and you are going to love the perspective you get, particularly in the fall.
9. Apostle Islands
The Apostle Islands National Lakeshore is a series of 21 islands that provide epic scenery and awesome beaches.
10. Horicon Marsh
Horicon Marsh is actually a glacial lake and is the largest freshwater cattail marsh in the United States.
11. Brule River State Forest
The Brule River is one of the most famous rivers in the United States, enjoyed by anglers and canoers alike. All 44 miles of the river are contained within this state forest.
12. High Cliff State Park
This 1,000 acre park has some breathtaking limestone cliffs and was sacred to American Indians.
13. Kettle Moraine State Forest
Kettle Moraine State Forest takes up a huge amount of land, and it rolls from forest to prairie. This is a picture of the stunning Kettle Moraine Low Prairie.
14. Chequamegon-Nicolet State Park
This forest actually covers 1.5 MILLION acres of Wisconsin's Northwoods. Explore lakes, rivers, plenty of trails, and even pick some wild berries.
15. Lake Winnebago
At 137,000 acres, Lake Winnebago is the largest lake entirely inside the state of Wisconsin. Also, it's gorgeous when the sun sets over it.
