This Epic 3-Day Restaurant Road Trip In Wisconsin Will Make Your Mouth Explode
Did you ever have the desire to go on the most hedonistic, calorie-laden, delicious restaurant road trip ever? If you were ever curious, we’ve created the perfect one. Three cities. Nine restaurants. Think you can handle it?
Day 1: Madison
1. Johnson Public House
This vintage building serves as the storefront of your favorite neighborhood cafe. But they aren't serving up just average cafe food. No, you'll eat things like a Nutella sandwich and bread pudding.
These Neopolitan pies are baked in a super hot oven--so hot, they only bake for 90 seconds (hence "Novanta"). In addition to pizza, they have sandwiches and dessert. Also, they have a mozzarella bar, which sounds like my kind of bar.
3. A Pig in a Fur Coat
Be as little or as big of a pig as you want. You can be stuffed just by sampling some of the appetizers (like poutine) or small plates (like lamb carpaccio). But if you can make it to dinner, you'll enjoy the massive servings of a variety of meats, cooked to perfection.
Day 2: Milwaukee
1. Simple Cafe
Simple Cafe is putting out anything but simple food. Eat things like a mashed potato omelet (you're welcome) or Korean pancakes. Doubt you'll find this kind of food anywhere.
2. Story Hill BKC
BKC stands for Bottle, Kitchen, Cup. A lot the dishes are familiar of ones you grew up eating, but wayyyy better. You can get very large portions, or else stick with small plates.
3. Odd Duck
Odd Duck does indeed serve duck, but it serves a n ever-changing variety of eats. The concept is shareable, small plates, that can be enjoyed by carnivores and vegetarians alike.
Day 3: Green Bay
1. White Dog Black Cat
The art on the restaurant is reflected in the style of the food. It's creative. And hey, if you can't make it for breakfast, go for lunch and get a hamburger that is sandwiched between two grilled cheese sandwiches.
2. Plae Bistro
This intimate setting serves modern American fare. This menu is very diverse, and it is crafted from organic, locally grown produce.
3. Titletown Brewing Company
This place is an awesome brewery in its own right. But the grub is pretty great, too. Try taking down this 32 ounce piece of meat. They also have some stellar pizza.
What do you think? Are you up for the challenge?
