Get A Taste Of The Past At Wisconsin's Pinecrest, A Historical Village Where Time Stands Still

Have you ever wondered what life was like for early Wisconsinites? Well, at Pinecrest Historical Village, you can find out firsthand. A living history museum, it features an entire town of buildings from yesteryear. Dedicated volunteers dressed in period clothing only add to the historic fun. Take a look:

Nestled in the scenic rolling countryside of eastern Wisconsin, Pinecrest Historical Village is a 60-acre interpretive museum where the past is present.

Offering a firsthand look at early life in Wisconsin, the grounds include an entire historic village, which is made up of more than 30 buildings!

The grounds are divided into three areas - Newcomers, which is where you’ll learn about life in the mid to late-1800s, Growing Community, which focuses on rural life in 1900, and Civic Center, where you can step inside a polling house, stable, and more.

A schoolhouse, church, log cabin, and train station are just a few of the buildings that make up the village.

All of the buildings are authentically historic. They've been gathered from throughout Manitowoc County.

To further complete visitors’ journey back in time, all of the buildings are outfitted with period furnishings.

But the historic buildings aren't all there is to love about Pinecrest.

There are also dedicated volunteers, who make visiting the village even more special.

In addition to dressing in period clothing...

...the volunteers put on demonstrations on forging, printing, cooking, and more.
