The One-Of-A-Kind Wilson’s Restaurant Just Might Have The Most Scenic Views In All Of Wisconsin
To find the sweetest view in Wisconsin, head to the heart of Ephraim. For more than a century, Wilson’s Ice Cream Parlor & Restaurant has been treating customers to cold and creamy ice cream as well as something warm and beautiful – the restaurant has the prime location for one of the best sunsets in the state. Get your ice cream flavor in mind and get in line – this ice cream and this Wisconsin view can’t be beat.
Wilson’s is one of the oldest ice cream shops in the country. It was founded way back in 1906 by Oscar and Mattie Wilson, who moved to the area from Milwaukee. They initially sold just ice cream and candy and eventually they began serving food.
A Door County icon was born. Over the decades, Wilson's kept generations of travelers well-fed after adventures in nearby Peninsula State Park or outings out on the bay.
But the real attraction has always been the ice cream. Each cone has a jelly bean hidden at the bottom to prevent ice cream from leaking out. Get as many scoops as you like.
The ice cream isn’t the only treat at this restaurant. It’s the perfect place to wait for the sunset to arrive – it gets very busy as people flock in to get their cones.
Wilson’s Ice Cream Parlor & Restaurant is hard to miss, as it’s painted white with a red and white striped awning – you’ll pass right by it when you’re on Highway 42. Learn more about the shop on their website. If you love creamy Wisconsin ice cream, here’s a road trip that will take you to some of the state’s very best ice cream.
